SASOHN is committed to the continued professional development of Occupational Health and Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners in South Africa.
ICOH has stated that in order to develop Occupational Health globally, OH practitioners need to address the basics of their discipline. SASOHN has embraced this concept and presents the 7th Academic Workshop in line with ICOH and SASOHN’s professional objectives.
Compensation for occupational diseases and injuries is currently provided for in South Africa by two different statutes – the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) and the Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act (ODMWA).
There are differences in both the application of and benefits paid in terms of COIDA and ODMWA. The purpose of this workshop is to enhance knowledge and understanding of the field of compensation for occupational injuries and diseases.
